Indian farmers are incurring huge losses due to cow menace. After almost 100 cows were locked up in primary schools in Prayagraj followed by Aligarh and Agra, Noida is next in line.
Times of India reported that farmers of Badalpur have locked up almost 50 cows inside a government school because they were destroying all the crops. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.
The local police had to intervene. They managed to free the cattle at around 4 pm on the same day. The farmers were inspired by a similar incident in Prayagraj. The farmers of Mahawad told the publication that they had to guard their fields like watchmen to keep away the cows from destroying their harvest.

¡°The cows are destroying the crops and seeds we are sowing. We are facing losses up to Rs 5,00,000 per acre,¡± informed the village pradhan Pramod Sharma.
The police later shifted the cows to a shelter home in Dadri.
The decision of locking up the cattle in schools had to be forcibly taken. The farmers said that repeated requests to the administration of shifting the cows to a shelter home weren¡¯t taken seriously.

However, the farmers waited for almost four years after which they decided to take the matter into their own hands. They said that they haven¡¯t been able to sleep because of this menace. Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) of Badalpur Police Station said that they contacted many cow shelters for help.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently directed the concerned officials to make immediate arrangements for proper care of stray cows. However, in an unusual way to resolve the stray cattle menace in Aligarh, district police officers had decided to adopt one bovine each, primarily unproductive cows and calves, in order to motivate public to follow suit.
