UP Expressways: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the construction of seven new expressways, which will improve road connectivity across the state. These expressways will cover 866 kilometers and pass through 56 districts. The total cost of the project is estimated at ?50,000 crore.

This project will cover a total distance of 866 km and connect about 56 districts. It will improve transportation links between Lucknow and Delhi-NCR regions.
The proposed expressways include:
The Vindhya Expressway will connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra. There are plans to extend it to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.? This extensive expressway will promote regional development and will help in smoother transportation. This expressway will be of 320 km and Vindhya Expressway¡¯s estimated cost will be around 22, 400 cr.?
A new link expressway will start from Chandauli and connect to Ghazipur, the endpoint of the Purvanchal Expressway. ? This expressway will enhance intra-state connectivity. This prominent expressway is approximately 100 km long, and its estimated cost is ?7000 crore.
This expressway will connect the Purvanchal and Agra Expressways, improving access to Lucknow. This expressway will facilitate better transportation routes. This expressway will be 50 km long and has been allotted ?4200 crore for its construction and land acquisition.?
Chitrakoot Link Expressway will be 120 km long. This expressway aims to connect the Bundelkhand Expressway with NH-135BG, providing access to Chitrakoot Dham. Currently this project is in the proposal stage as land acquisition has not yet commenced.
This Jhansi Link Expressway (100 km) will connect Jhansi to the Bundelkhand Expressway, making travel easier in the region. This project will mainly support economic growth and improve travel efficiency. This expressway is estimated to be 100 km long.
The Jewar Link Expressway will provide a direct connection between Jewar international Airport and the Yamuna Expressway. This expressway will significantly improve access to the airport and surrounding regional areas. This prominent expressway will be 76 km long.
This road will connect the Ganga Expressway (Meerut to Prayagraj) with Lucknow, improving long-distance travel. Also, the estimated cost for the Agra-Lucknow Ganga Expressway Link Road is around 8,000 Crore.?
The Ganga Expressway, which will run from Meerut to Prayagraj, is 71% complete. The government plans to finish the project by November 2025. So far, 95% of the earthwork and 1,412 out of 1,500 structures have been completed.
These new expressways will make travel faster and easier across Uttar Pradesh. The project will boost economic growth, trade, and infrastructure in many districts. Construction work is expected to begin soon, bringing better roads and connectivity to millions of people.
