Viral video shows youngsters' struggle to identify 'Father of the Nation,' sparking outrage online
Social media has been caught up with a vox pop interview wherein several youngsters can be seen answering incorrectly when asked to name the freedom struggle icon who is referred to as the Father of the Nation. The video shared on X by user Ashoka Kumar Pandey has left many social media users baffled and enraged.
'Father of the Nation' question puzzles students
One young woman confidently answers, ¡°Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,¡± while another woman guesses, ¡°Narendra Modi! Ya woh bhi nahi. Idea hi nahi hai (I have no idea).¡±
A young man then replies with, ¡°Ambedkar!¡± Another interviewee struggles, saying, ¡°I know this. I can picturise but I just forgot the name.¡± The confusion continues as the next woman replies, ¡°Gujarat, Dilli (Delhi)!¡±
Expressing his frustration on this clip, Pandey wrote on X, ¡°Firstly, just speaking English doesn¡¯t necessarily mean that one has some knowledge; secondly, there should be a proper inspection of their schools and teachers.¡±
The video was shared on July 11 and since then it has amassed over 65,000 views along with a flurry of comments. Social media users openly expressed their disappointment over the youngsters' lack of knowledge.
One user commented, ¡°These children do not seem to have studied in government schools, then they should have known, because the English medium schools with high fees provide very good education, the only useless ones are the children and teachers of government schools.¡± Another user questioned, ¡°Have they gone to any school????¡±
