The PFA volunteer has called for stringent punishment against this act and has called it illegal and unconstitutional under section 11(1) A of the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals act, 1960 and IPC 429.
Stray dogs live in miserable conditions in India. They are often beaten, thrown from rooftops or mutilated by miscreants who often carry out such activities ¡°just for fun¡± or for their own pleasure. Lack of sympathy towards them, illiteracy and common sense, mostly in rural parts of India result in these barbaric acts.
