Reflecting on the 2023 heartbreak, PM Modi was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium to witness the final between India and Australia. Australia managed to chase the total set by India at 240 in the fifty overs handing Men in Blue their first defeat in the tournament.Travis Head scored a smashing 137 runs.
After the loss, PM Modi had praised the team's effort, saying, "Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup was noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always."

Barbados¡¯ Kensington Oval was the venue for an electrifying final when Team India secured a seven-run victory over South Africa after Hardik Pandya got rid of David Miller and Kagiso Rabada to seal his heroic final over triumph which made South Africa¡¯s innings end at 169/8.

Having come back to Delhi, the team had a breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. The team wore a custom-made 'champions' jersey, this time in orange and blue and with the word 'Champions' written across the back.

The celebration is underway as the players are now in Mumbai for a victory march beginning from Nariman Point and ending at Wankhede Stadium. For the World Cup winners, the BCCI has organised a special event at Wankhede to felicitate the players with a prize of Rs 125 million.
