Few creatures evoke as much fear as snakes do. While most of us shudder at the mere thought of a snake slithering nearby, imagine facing your worst nightmare: being swallowed whole by an anaconda. Yet, against all odds, one man survived this harrowing ordeal and lived to share his astonishing tale!
In an unforgettable stunt for Discovery Channel's "Eaten Alive" in 2014, Paul Rosolie deliberately allowed himself to be consumed by an anaconda.?
Clad in a specialised suit, Rosolie bravely faced the jaws of the giant anaconda.
A decade later, he's breaking his silence about the intense experience and revealing the raw emotions he endured during the stunt, including the heart-stopping fear that his ribcage would give way under the immense pressure.
Recalling the chilling moment, Rosolie described it as "terrifying."?
"The last thing I remember was her mouth open wide and everything went black. I went limp and let it constrict," he recounted to the New York Post.?
"She wrapped around me and I felt my suit cracking and my arms ripping out of their sockets."
Within minutes of being swallowed, as his head was being engulfed, he signaled, and the team promptly ended the stunt.
"I came inches away, moments away from having my rib cage explode," he said, adding, "Every time you exhale, you never get that space back, you never take that breath in again. So you exhale and the snake squeezes, and then when you try to breathe in, there's nothing. And so I couldn't even call for help. It was terrifying."
When questioned about whether he felt endangered or close to death during filming, he responded, "On TV, no, because it was with the Discovery Channel. So, they had people around, they had an ambulance and doctors, and we had plenty of people on standby in case something happened." Rosolie also commended the team around him, including the creators of the "very well-made" suit that shielded him.
