In yet another reported case of forcible conversion, a young Hindu woman was abducted from her weddingand forced to convert to Islam in Pakistan¡¯s Sindh province.?
Over the past few years,there have been several cases of Hindu women being abducted and forcibly convertedto Islam and married off.
The24-year-old woman, in this case, was allegedly kidnapped by assailants under thesupervision of local police authorities from her wedding venue in Hala, a citylocated in Matiari district in Sindh province, about 215 km away from the provincialcapital Karachi, reports?IndiaToday.
Reportssuggest that the woman, identified Bharti Bai, was then forcefully converted toIslam and married off to a Muslim man.
She was tobe married to a Hindu man in Hala city, when unknown assailants allegedlystormed the venue and kidnapped her.?Bharti¡¯s father Kishore Das said his ¡°daughter'swedding ceremony was underway when the kidnapper named Shah Rukh Gul came withseveral men along with policemen and took his daughter away in broad daylight,¡±reads the report.
Soon, apicture of Bharti with documents of conversion to Islam and marriage to ShahGul went viral on social media.
According toconversion certificate, Bharti¡¯s new name is Bushra. Also, she was forciblyconverted to Islam on December 1, 2019. ?Jamiat-ul-Uloom Islamia, locatedat Allama Muhammad Yousuf Banuri town in Karachi, issued the certificate ofBharti's conversion which was witnessed and certified by MuftiAbuBakar Saeed ur Rehman.
