Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is all set to become the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as the elections on Thursday ended the 14-year rule of the Conservative Party. As Starmer moves into 10 Downing Street in London, his new official residence, the 61-year-old will be the sixth Prime Minister its other famous inhabitant has seen.
Larry the cat, who holds the official title "Chief Mouser" of 10 Downing Street, has seen half a dozen British Prime Ministers ever since he was appointed to the post 14 years ago. It was in February 2011 that the then British Prime Minister David Cameron recruited Larry the cat as Chief Mouser to get rid of mice there.

Since then, Larry has become a regular sight in and around 10 Downing Street. Larry has managed to stay in 10 Downing Street for 14 years while British Prime Ministers came and went, with many joking that the cat has been the only symbol of stability in the years of political turmoil that the UK has been witnessing.
On Friday, as election results started coming in and Rishi Sunak conceded defeat, making way for Starmer as the new Prime Minister, Larry was pictured waiting outside the famous black door.
