Lottery winners?are often described?as?'lucky,'?but for a man from the US, it has brought anything but luck!?An unnamed man has been embroiled in legal battles with his family for?more than six months now after he won?the Mega Millions jackpot.?In January 2023, the anonymous winner who bought the ticket in Lebanon, Maine, hit the jackpot, winning $1.35 billion (Rs 112 crore), one of the biggest payouts in US history.
But, things only went south for him from there. The winner, identified by his pseudonym John Doe in court documents, took home $500 million (Rs 41 crore) after taxes and has been accused of breaking his promise to share the prize money with his family.

According to reports since November, the lottery winner has been locked in a lawsuit against his?daughterĄ¯s?mother, alleging that she violated a non-disclosure agreement by revealing the nature of the?manĄ¯s?winnings to the rest of the family. The duo had reportedly agreed to keep it a secret till 2032, at which point their daughter would be 18.?
However, court documents showed that it was not the woman, identified by the pseudonym Sara Smith, who violated the non-disclosure?agreement,?but?the winner himself!

According to the court documents, the jackpot?winner's?father said?that his?son had informed him about winning the lottery. The father further said that his son also made promises to him that he would build his father a garage with old cars to fix up, buy the house where his father had raised him, set up a $1m trust fund for his father, and fund medical expenses for his father and stepmother if need be.
While Doe admitted?to?telling his father that he won the lottery, he claimed that the woman was attempting to expose his identity. He also alleged that she falsely accused him of trying to?Ą°kidnapĄą?their daughter after he refused to pay for the woman and her boyfriend to go on a vacation.
