Facing the threat of international isolation many in the Pakistani political scene had in the recent times openly and secretly admitted that their country had a problem when it comes to supporting terrorists.
This include an alleged meeting between the political and military leadership of the country where the Sharif government supposedly told the military to act against terrorists of face isolation. Close to the meeting an PML-N lawmaker had openly criticised the government for backing terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar.
However these rhetorics had stopped short of an open admission from someone from the establishment.?

But now for the first time a top political figure has called a spade a spade. Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has described Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a "terrorist", saying he has been involved in bomb blasts even in his country.
This is in sharp contrast with the previous stands he had taken while in power where he encouraged groups like LeT and JeM to carry out terror activities in India.
Even the Pakistan government has gone to any extends to protect its 'strategic assets' despite mounting international pressure.?

A proposal is pending before the UN Security Council for declaring Azhar as an international terrorist but China has been blocking it, claiming that there is not enough evidence to prove that he is a terrorist.
