Afghanistan held their nerves on Tuesday as they defeated Bangladesh in a nail-biter to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by eight runs in the Super Eights match at the Arnos Vale Ground, which also meant that Australia was knocked out of the tournament.
Chasing a target of 114 runs in 19 overs due to rain disruptions, Bangladesh was bowled out for 105 in the 18th over.

For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq led the bowling attack, picking up four wickets each and helping their side defend the given target of 115. Naveen-ul-Haq was named the 'Player of the Match' while Rashid Khan also contributed 19 runs from 10 balls while batting first.
Afghanistan, who had been in incredible form, has only lost two games in the T20 World Cup, one each in the first round and the Super Eight stage. Afghanistan came to the match against Bangladesh after an impressive win over mighty Australia.

On Sunday, Afghanistan picked up arguably the biggest win in their cricketing history after bowling out Australia for 127 runs.?
Australia, who were chasing the 148-run target set by Afghanistan, could only manage to score 127 before they were bowled out in 19.2 overs.
