Protests rocked the streets of Kabul on Tuesday when a large group of women raised slogans against Pakistan. The Taliban fired in the air and also arrested several journalists who were covering the protest.
Days later, photographs have emerged showing two Afghan journalists, who were reporting on the Kabul protests, covered in injuries from being thrashed by the Taliban.
In a tweet, American journalist Marcus Yam shared a photo of the two journalists showing blood clots all over their bodies. Yam wrote, ¡°Painful. Afghan journalists from Nemat Naqdi & Taqi Daryabi display wounds sustained from Taliban torture & beating while in custody after they were arrested for reporting on a women¡¯s rally in Kabul.¡±
Several Afghan journalists covering the Kabul protests were arrested on Tuesday.
The interim Taliban government has issued a set of conditions for protests a day after members of the militant group clashed with demonstrators in parts of Afghanistan.

Amid Taliban rule, shocking visuals have been reported from Kabul's National Music Institute as the Taliban has reportedly destroyed musical instruments including piano and drum set.
Reacting to the destruction of musical instruments, Afghanistan Ambassador to Poland Tahir Qadiry said, ¡°September is a dark month in the Afghan calendar; so much to grieve, from the martyrdom of Afghan National Hero to reversing to square one. Today, the once-renowned all-female ¡°Zohra Orchestra¡± of @OfficialANIM is dead. The day the music died in #Afghanistan.¡±
?British journalist Jerome Starkey also shared photographs and said that when he arrived at the institute, the Taliban guards claimed that the musical instruments had already been destroyed.
The Islamist insurgents have banned music and women are not allowed to work. After taking over Afghanistan, the Taliban has been targeting musicians and artists for betraying their vision of Islamic rule.??
