September 24, 2007 is a day most Indian fans will remember. We won the first ever World T20 and that too over our traditional rivals Pakistan.
This was the first time India and Pakistan faced off in the final of an ICC event. A match between these two is always a high voltage contest and this one too went down the wire.

Gautam Gambhir's 77 helped set a target of 158 and it came down to Pakistan needing 13 off the last 6 balls. MS Dhoni tossed the ball to Joginder Sharma and he did not disappoint.?
Misbah-ul-Haq was batting beautifully, and the equation came to 6 from 4 with one wicket left. Then came the decisive moment. Misbah went for a shot shat was partially a scoop and sort of a flick. Now of a normal pace bowler it would got for six or at least a 4. But Joginder was bowling well below normal and the ball looped up in the air. Sreesanth settled under it and held on.

That was it! India had won by 5 runs to lift the title and Misbah was left to ponder what might have been.
What a game it was. Ten years on, June 18 2017 will see them face off in the Champions Trophy final. If their last title clash is anything to go by, be prepared for a nail-biter.
