A war veteran who served in the Indian army and fought in the 1965 and 1971 wars is begging at Connaught Place in New Delhi.
Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Saturday posted two photographs of Peethambaran holding a placard at ¡®A¡¯ block at Connaught Place with a walking stick in hand, resting himself against a pillar and holding a poster which read ¡°I need your help¡±.
The poster, written in black and green, informs that he is an ex-serviceman who participated in the 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan war. He also mentioned in green that in 1967 he had participated in the Indian-China conflict at Nathula. Peethambaran He wrote in the poster that he had recently met with an accident and that he was facing financial difficulties for treatment.

"He claims due to technical reasons he cannot get support from the army," Gautam Gambhir tweeted urging the defence minister to intervene as he Peethambaran was begging.
