While it only seemed a threat at first, now there is every chance that the Champions Trophy might take place without the defending champions. That's right, the BCCI may not send the Indian team to take part in the tournament.

Why? Because the world's richest cricket board just lost the revenue and governance vote at ?the ICC meet by a convincing margin. This means that its share in revenue will be cut down, and the body's power shall be considerably less in the cricketing world.

One BCCI official was asked if India would pull out after the recent developments. He said,"All options are open. They have basically disrespected the Members Participation Agreement that was earlier signed. As of now the joint secretary will go back and an emergent SGM will be called. He will then apprise the General Body about the developments and an appropriate decision will be taken."
Already India have missed the April 25 deadline by not announcing their squad for the tournament. If it was meant as a pressure tactic on the ICC, it backfired.

However, there is no need to panic yet for Indian fans. No decision has been taken and it is too early to say if Virat Kohli's men will be going or not.
So while the suspense continues, lets just cross our fingers and hope for the best.
