After a lot of speculation on whether he would play or not, the news comes in that Virat Kohli will sit out the Dharamsala Test against Australia.

Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar confirmed the news. There was talk that he may miss it after Shreyas Iyer was brought in as cover.
Kohli himself had said that he would play only if he was fully fit. The 28-year-old had injured his right shoulder while fielding in Ranchi.

This means that Ajinkya Rahane is leading the side. He becomes the 33rd Test skipper for India.
But surprisingly it was not Shreyas but left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav who replaced Kohli in the team. He was rewarded with his first Test cap as Australia opted to bat. The series is locked at 1-1 as both teams are gunning for victory.
