Even if you don't smoke cigarettes, rising air pollution all around us means we are causing certain damage to our lungs.
Now, there's an app that lets you visualize just that, how pollution near you is actually the same as smoking a certain number of cigarettes everyday.
Check out this app called Shit, I Smoke! which explains your local pollution in plain, simple English that anyone can understand. The app is freely available on both iOS and Android.
We fired the app across Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, earlier today to get a sense of the pollution levels in each of those cities.?

The only thing Shit, I Smoke app can't do right now is let you change your location to see how a different location compares to your current location, in terms of air pollution.
If you're interested in the complicated math behind the app's pollution-to-cigarette smoke conversion, it's based on Berkeley Earth analysis, taking into consideration the 1.6 million deaths that were accelerated due to China's really bad air pollution index. And the conversion rate there was equivalent to people in China smoking 2.4 cigarettes per day.
