While it's great for instant messaging, but WhatsApp-based rumours have led to increasing instances of mob lynching in India recently -- two men were hacked to death in Tripura, and eleven lynchings have taken place over the past two months alone. All due to rumours spread on WhatsApp.
That's why WhatsApp has launched a feature that allows admins to take control of their groups and streamline communication flow like never before -- and the stop spread of dangerous rumours that can lead to loss of life and property.

Announced in an official blog post, WhatsApp?launched a new group setting where only admins are able to send messages to a group. This is especially great because not only do admins have more power, but they can also be the one who talk.
This WhatsApp setting is ideal for groups that are sources of important announcements and information -- like a parents and teachers group at schools, housing society announcements, and so on.

Previously where admins and members had to request others from not posting frivolous messages, now admins can just enable this group messaging setting and enforce a one-way communication rule.
To turn on this WhatsApp group setting,?just click on "Group Info," then tap on Group Settings > Send Messages and select "Only Admins."
As long as you have the latest updated version of WhatsApp installed on your phone, you should be able to see this latest group messaging feature.
