Apple rolled out iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 on Monday with several fixes for vulnerabilities affecting the devices. According to the company, fixes includes patches for Apple's Neural Engine, the Find My service, and kernel-level patches for flaws that could compromise a device's security.
At the same time, Apple also rolled out macOS 14.5, watchOS 9.6, and tvOS 16.6 weeks ahead of Apple's upcoming major software update - iOS 17.
The iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, macOS 13.5, tvOS 16.6, and watchOS 9.6 updates are available to download on compatible devices and as always, Apple recommends all users to download the update on their devices.
To download the update, head over to General > Software Update > Download and Install. Follow the instructions on-screen to complete the update. Preferably connect your device to a charger. Following the update completion, your phone will restart.

The Find My app update fixes a flaw that allows an app to read sensitive location information, according to the release notes for the latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS software releases.

The new iOS update also includes fixes for WebKit, Apple's open-source browser engine that powers its Safari browser. Apple claims that these fixes can help steer clear of concerns that would allow malicious code to be executed on the device.
Apple also acknowledged reports that these security vulnerabilities have been exploited by malicious users, urging all iOS users to install the update as soon as possible.

Additionally, macOS 13.5 includes security patches that fight vulnerabilities that would allow a sandboxed process to circumvent security restrictions, or allow an app to access sensitive data in the Voice Memos app.??
