Are you among the few people who genuinely get excited about the intersection of various ecosystems? For instance, do you use an Apple MacBook and an Android phone? The Apple Mac ecosystem is designed to work seamlessly with iPhones and other iOS devices.
It has been a painful task to transfer files from an Android smartphone to MacBook in the past, and it's still a largely cumbersome process. iPhone users can simply use AirDrop to share between Apple devices. Android also has Nearby Share to make this possible within Android devices.
Although transferring between Android and Mac isn't as smooth as Apple-to-Apple devices, there are still some ways to do it.
Google's Android File transfer service helps Android owners of Mac transfer files. The service works with Mac systems running macOS 10.7 (Lion) and later versions. It's far from perfect, but is still your best option.
Here's how to use Android File Transfer
1. Download Android File Transfer on your MacBook.
2. Open the AndroidFileTransfer.dmg file.
3. Complete the installation and then drag the application to your Applications folder.
4. Simply plug in your Android device into your MacBook using a USB cable.
Once you're in, you should be able to access the contents of your Android device and transfer them seamlessly.
Save your content on one of the many cloud services available, including Google Drive, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive.
The service of your choice should support both your MacBook and Android devices. Once you create a cloud account on one of these services and install the app on your MacBook, install the same app on your Android smartphone.
Make sure you back up what you need to this cloud service and then access the same on your MacBook.?
