Meta-owned Twitter clone Threads has a new feature that prevents user posts from being automatically shared on Instagram and Facebook. Users can now stop Meta from showing people's Threads posts on sister platforms like Instagram and Facebook. This comes in after many users complained that their posts were visible on both platforms in carousels that show suggested content from Threads.
Currently, the ability to opt-out of cross-sharing is being rolled out, so it may not be immediately available to all users.
To remove your Threads post from Meta's other platforms, you need to follow the steps below.
"If your profile is public, your posts may be suggested on other apps so people can discover and follow you," Meta says.
Since its July launch, Meta has been working on enhancing integration between Threads, Facebook, and Instagram.
In August, Instagram and Facebook started showing in-app carousels of recommended content from Threads. In such carousels, you can see Threads posts of your friends on Instagram or Facebook and clicking on them takes you to Threads.
Make sure you're running the latest version of the Threads app to access this feature. According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Threads has nearly 100 million monthly users just four months into its launch.
