It can be quite easy to lose yourself in long binges of PUBG Mobile, as the game's pretty awesome after all.
However, it's important to remember that even too much of an awesome thing is bad, especially when it drives you to take drastic measures for no reason.
And that's supposedly what happened with a 17-year-old boy from Jind in Haryana. According to a Time of India report, the boy committed suicide after allegedly his mother took away his phone for playing too much PUBG.
This incident comes merely days after the tragedy of the?Thane boy who allegedly killed his brother for not letting him play PUBG Mobile on his phone.
The report indicates the teen had dropped out of school after finishing his class Xth exams a year ago. According to his family, he spent most of his time playing PUBG Mobile on his phone, and not much else.
The boy's father, a policeman, and his mother would both scold him often for slacking off and wasting his time with the game. The cop told TOI he was on duty on Saturday evening when his wife snatched the mobile phone away because she caught him playing PUBG on the roof.
It's not the first incident we've seen of kids committing suicide or getting violent over the game, and it won't be the last. It's part of the reason why some are all for banning the game in India entirely.?
What's probably a better idea though is to address the route cause of this kind of addiction, especially when the game is available to everyone and yet only a few succumb to this kind of obsession.
Perhaps the problem then is not the game itself, but rather how we approach problems like this.
