The latest iOS update is here! Apple began rolling out iOS 16.4 yesterday with new emoji, voice isolation for calls, website push notifications, and more features. The iOS 16.4 update is now available to iPhone users, along with the iPadOS 16.4 update for iPad. In addition, Apple has also released tvOS 16.4 and macOS Venture 13.3.
iPhone users can update their device by heading to the Settings app, clicking on General, and then tapping Software Update. If you're unable to see the update option right now, check back later - Apple is currently rolling out the update globally. If you're part of Apple's developer programme, head over to Beta Updates in the Software Update section in setting to download the latest beta version.
There are 21 new emoji available in the iOS 16.4 update including a pink heart and a shaking face along with a WiFi symbol and various other animals and objects that were approved by the Unicode Consortium last year. It was confirmed in February that these emoji would be included in the latest iOS update. Other new emoji additions include ginger, jellyfish, a moose, a goose, maracas, a flute, grey and light blue hearts, and more.

The new iOS update also brings voice isolation to iPhones for making calls that blocks out ambient noise to prioritise users' voices. It was already available for FaceTime calls but is now available for regular calls as well. To enable voice isolation for cellular calls, go to Control Center while you're on a call, click on Mic Mode, and then select Voice Isolation.

In addition, the new update also makes room for web-based push notifications on your iPhone. iOS developers can now send push notifications to users who've pinned a web app to their home screen. If your favourite service doesn't have an app for iOS yet, this could come in handy and has been a long time coming!
In addition, the iOS 16.4 update also adds bug fixes regarding duplicated albums in Photos and in iCloud Shared Library, among other things.
