Craig Wright, a computer scientist who claims he invented Bitcoin won a civil trial verdict on Monday against the family of a dead business partner. The deceased partner's claimed that they were owed half of the fortune amassed by the cryptocurrency, running into tens of billions of dollars.
A jury in Florida, United States found that Wright does not owe half of 1.1 million Bitcoin to the family of David Kleiman. There was a small win for the Kleiman family, who received $100 million as intellectual property rights for a joint venture between the two men.
David Kleiman passed away in April 2013 at the age of 46. His brother Ira Kleiman claims that David Kleiman and Wright co-created Bitcoin and were close buddies.
In the centre of this whirlpool lie 1.1 million Bitcoin, worth over $50 billion. These were the first Bitcoin to be mined and could only be in the possession of those who created it.

Bitcoin's elusive creator goes by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. In 2016, Wright claimed that he is Nakamoto. He promised to prove the same, a claim Bitcoin community has been waiting to verify.
In 2008, a person or a group going by the name "Satoshi Nakamoto" published a paper in which they laid out a framework for a decentralised digital currency, free from the regulation of legal or sovereign authority.
A few months later, the mining process for Bitcoin began, which involves solving complex mathematical equations and requires a lot of energy. Nakamoto translates into "at the centre of" from Japanese and is largely understood to be an alias under which the Bitcoin creator operates.

The Bitcoin community doesn't trust Wright, and many people have asked him to simply move a small fraction of the 1.1 million Bitcoin into a separate account to prove his ownership, something he has failed to prove so far.
Wright did say that he would prove his ownership if he won the trial. Now, it looks like his time is finally here.
