Google is rolling out Android 14 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) 1 Beta 1 to users now. The beta adds a lot of new features to Android and is available forPixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold.
The new Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 update adds a series of new features to Pixel devices. For starters, a code string shows that Google is rolling out a "repair mode." This could work just like Maintenance Mode on Samsung that locks your device to the protect its data as it is given for repair.
In addition, the new Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 also comes with a new Quick Settings background.?
The beta also adds a feature specifically for Pixel Fold that lets users continue using their apps when the device is folded. Essentially, you wouldn't have to open the file again.
Another new feature includes particle effects when changing a wallpaper on your smartphone. This is a small change, but as WCCFTech pointed out, it represents Google's upcoming strategy with Android.

In the Pixel Launcher, Google has made changes to the settings toggles. There's also a "Suggestions before searching option" along with a shortcut that directly leads users to settings at the bottom of the launcher.
The beta has also added more comprehensive battery information that includes the manufacturing date and cycle counts. Google claims that the cycle count may not be at zero on first use due to quality inspection.

Besides these changes, Google has also added a new Metro Clock.
In addition, the Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 allows users to set the aspect ratio on apps that support it. The options are full screen, half screen, and 16:9. This option is most likely to help users of the Pixel Fold.
