Google Assistant now has a new superpower! Now, Google Assistant can warn you when you need to change your password. If that weren't enough, Google Assistant can also help you set up a new password.
Last year, Google promised that it was working on a feature for Chrome on Android that would allow Google Assistant to help users change stolen passwords with just a few taps. Now, the feature is finally rolling out to some users. Let's not forget - Google Chrome can already warn you if your stored passwords are unsafe or were leaked in a data breach.
Every time you try to log in with a password that's been compromised, Google Assistant on Chrome will ask you to "change automatically," Android Police reported. Once you confirm, you will be redirected to the website to set up a new password.?
There are two options - you can either set up a password of your choice or use the built-in password manager to find the perfect password. As long as you keep giving Google Assistant permissions, it would essentially do everything for you when it comes to setting up a new password.?

So far, the feature doesn't work on all websites. After Google publishes requirements for websites to get on board this change, it could help millions of users prevent data theft.
If you simply wish to check whether your saved passwords are currently safe from "data breaches and other security issues," you can simply click on Settings in Chrome and type Password in the search box. After you click on "Check passwords" you will be prompted to log in and then Chrome will let you know which passwords ought to be changed.
