Working on your PC or laptop for hours at a stretch typically requires multitasking on your web browser.?
In practice, this usually takes the form of multiple tabs opened on it simultaneously. Google now wants you to better manage such tabs on its browser Google Chrome.
Google Chrome beta has received a new feature called ¡®tab groups¡¯. With this feature, Google Chrome users will be able to club several tabs into a single group and organise them as a single tab.?
The feature will allow Google Chrome users to label these tab groups with a custom name, with even emojis and colour to distinguish them easily. Multiple groups can be created and operated as single tabs, with the ability to be reordered by a simple click and drag along the tab strip.
That is not all. If users decide to shift a tab from one assigned group to another, the new function will allow them to do so with a simple click and slide, much like the tabs are repositioned on Chrome now. Just click and hold on the tab from any group and slide it onto another group.
Tab groups will act as pinned tabs on Chrome. This means that the tabs in a group will retain their webpages even after Chrome is reopened after closing.
In order to add a tab in a group, Chrome users will be able to right click on the tab and select ¡®add to new group¡® - second option in the menu. Upon clicking, the option will open up a dialogue box with a name field for the tab group name and associated colour options to highlight it. Several other options will also be available for the users, including ¡®New Tab in Group¡¯, ¡®Ungroup¡¯, ¡®Close Group¡¯, ¡®Move Group in new window ¡® and more.
The ¡®tab group¡¯ feature will be reaching Google Chrome users by next week, says the company. The feature will be available across Chrome OS, Windows, Mac and Linux in the upcoming version.
