Today, search engine giant Google has paid tribute to the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan on his 93rd birth anniversary.?

The doodle is a graphical representation of the actor as well as giving us a glimpse into some of the most iconic characters in his career. The doodle has been created by Bengaluru-based Noopur Rajesh Choksi.
She shared her experience creating this masterpiece, "Sivaji Ganesan was known for his versatility and the variety of roles he portrayed on screen. I loved seeing the evolution of his looks across movies and all the eccentric facial hair he sported through the years. You can tell that he loved immersing himself into the narrative of the characters he portrayed on screen, so I really wanted to represent his artistic range through the Doodle.¡±
She added, ¡°I also drew inspiration from vintage Indian film posters for the treatment and typography. I was inspired by the nostalgia and the timelessness of his work, and my aim was to visualize that complex celebratory emotion in the best possible way."

Renowned as one of India¡¯s first method actors, while also considered as one of the most influential actors of that era, Ganeshan was born in October 1928 as Ganesamoorthy in Tamil Nadu¡¯s Villupuram.?
He left his home at the age of 7 and joined a theatre group where he would perform as a child artist and sometimes female roles too. However, what made him truly popular was his portrayal of Maratha ruler Shivaji in a play named, ¡®Shivaji Kanda Hindu Rajyam¡¯. His fans would often call him ¡®Sivaji¡¯ after this role and that¡¯s how his stage name came into being.?

He made his debut in 1952 with the film Parasakthi and starred in over 300 films throughout his career that spanned for around five decades. For his stellar performances, he became the first Indian actor to be awarded the best actor in an international film festival for the movie Veerapandiya Kattabomman. He is also the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is regarded as the highest award in the field of cinema in India.?
He passed away on July 1, 2001, after suffering from respiratory and cardiac ailments.?
