It is no secret that Apple's iPad is pretty much the king of tablets, ever since it was first launched about a decade ago. Google with its Android brigade tried to play catch up, but it hasn't been very successful.
Now it may seem that after all Google is admitting defeat. Finally.
Google has deleted the Android tablet web page from its official website, according to multiple reports. It may be a tiny change on its website, but it is a significant one as far as the future of Android tablets is concerned.
The tablet section, which was anchored between "wear" and "TV" in the menu of Google's website, doesn't exist anymore. Gone are also the tablet-specific apps highlighted in that space, along with some premium Android tablet models like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1. The section was visible till May 31, but has vanished since June 1, according to AndroidPolice.

That is pretty much the million dollar question right now. Is Google abandoning its tailored-for-tablet Android experience, which could give the Apple iPad a run for its money, choosing to focus instead on its Chromebook line of thin-laptop devices which is getting a lot of traction in the education sector? No one knows right now, apart from Google.
Google hasn't made its position clear on this question. Needless to say, we will update this space whenever there's an update to share.?
