Google has finally gone ahead and revealed the much-awaited (and much leaked) Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL. The Google flagships run on the (somewhat) latest and greatest hardware with a revamped camera setup to take superior photos.
Here's everything you need to know about the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4XL.
Google's Pixel 4 gets a 5.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, whereas the Pixel 4XL gets a larger 6.3-inch QHD+ OLED panel with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels. These get a 90hz high-refresh-rate which Google calls 'Smooth Display'-- similar to the one seen on the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.
We already knew for a fact that Google's Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4XL are getting a dual-camera setup after Google teased it to the world a few months back. We now know for a fact that the camera setup gets a 12-megapixel primary shooter and a 16-megapixel telephoto shooter.
This comes along with some major software improvements like Live HDR+, better white balance with AI, and improved Nightsight to generate better imagery.
Under the hood, Google's hardware choice might disappoint many. For starters, it is using the dated Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor. While it is no slouch when it comes to performance, they could have picked the slightly faster and newer Snapdragon 855+ which is an overclocked version of Snapdragon 855.?
This comes paired with 6GB of RAM. You also get 64GB and 128GB storage variants.?
For battery, the Pixel 4 gets a disappointing 2800 mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 4XL gets a decent 3700mAh battery.?
Before the launch, Google also teased the Motion gestures on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL, and now they're finally here. To the uninitiated, The top section of the Pixel 4's include a Face unlock IR camera, a standard front-facing camera, An ambiernt light/ proximity sensor, a Soli Radar chip, a Face Unlock Dot Projector, another Face Unlock IR camera and a Face unlock Flood Illuminator. Moreover, Google has also stated that all the face data will be stored securely in the Titan M chip on the Pixel 4.?
Google Pixel 4 is priced at $799 for the 64GB variant and $899 for the 128GB variant. Google Pixel 4XL, on the other hand, is priced at $899 for the 64GB variant and $999 for the 128GB variant. The device is already available for pre-orders in the US and will hit the shelves in the US on October 22nd. Sadly, as per Google, the device will not be launched in India.?
