Google Pixel 4 is just a few months away and Google has gone ahead and revealed a distinct new feature of its upcoming flagship device.
According to a blog post by Google, Pixel 4 will have an advanced face-unlock system, along with Motion-Sense support from Project Soli which will allow gesture recognition to do various actions by just waving at the screen.

As seen in leaks before, the forehead of the Pixel 4 had an array of sensors. And Google has revealed what those sensors actually are. Just like iPhone X, Google Pixel 4 will be using a complex array of sensors for enabling a secure way to unlock your smartphone using just the face.?
The top section includes a Face unlock IR camera, a standard front-facing camera, An ambiernt light/ proximity sensor, a Soli Radar chip, a Face Unlock Dot Projector, another Face Unlock IR camera and a Face unlock Flood Illuminator. Moreover, Google has also stated that all the face data will be stored securely in the Titan M chip on the Pixel 4. However, what's cooler is the way the Pixel 4 actually unlocks, which was revealed in a video by Google.?
Unlike iPhone where once the Face ID scans your face, you slide up to get into the phone, Pixel 4 just unlocks, without the need to slide or do anything else on the screen. There is no mention about the presence of fingerprint scanner on the device. We could expect Pixel 4 to include an in-display fingerprint scanner, but with the level of hardware Google is adding to the Pixel 4, it would want all the focus on its face-unlock capabilities.?
As mentioned earlier, Google also hinted at a new Motion Sensing feature on the Pixel 4, based on Project Soli. It uses the Soli Radar Chip and other aforementioned paraphernalia of sensors to detect hand motions to do day-to-day tasks like changing soundtracks, silencing the phone and snoozing alarms just by waving the hand on top of the phone.?
While the application for motion sensing Project-Soli is limited (and feels rather gimmicky), and it's going to be available in select countries in the beginning, it is expected to become more dynamic as it gets better in the coming future, allowing you to use your phone not just using touch screen.??
