We all know how expensive AF iPhones are, and not everyone can afford to buy one. Now imagine after you buy an iPhone, sending it tens of thousands of feet into the sky, with no protection, tied to a bunch of helium-filled party balloons. Seems downright bonkers, right?
That's exactly what one YouTuber did recently, as crazy as it sounds -- he sent his brand new iPhone XS tied to a bunch of party balloons, sailing into the boundless blue sky.?

YouTuber Techrax sent his?iPhone XS?to the sky by putting it a styrofoam box, strapped to over 110?balloons?and recorded the journey of the iPhone gliding through the skies.
The scene looks straight out of the movie Up, if you have seen it. The video shows the beautiful journey of the iPhone XS going as high as 10-15 kilometres in the sky as well as capturing picturesque panoramic landscapes of the city of Lincoln, California.
After a while, the balloons began to pop (maybe due to the hot temperature in the skies that cause the helium to expand and burst) later and the entire package came down somewhere near Verdera in Lincoln, California.?
Sadly the phone could only capture the first 15 minutes of the footage as when Techrax finally got his hands on the phone it was extremely hot and had stopped recording, probably due to the sun.
Now you might be wondering how he got his phone back? No, he didn't use 'Find my iPhone', he strapped a GPS device to the box and tracked it using another phone.

Surprisingly, this wasn't his first rodeo, as around two years ago he had tried something similar. He strapped a weather balloon to an iPhone 7 and set it to the skies, along with a GPS tracker, but instead of a styrofoam box, the phone was strapped naked to the weather balloon unit.
When he did get his hands on the crashed phone, the back was scratched, but the iPhone 7 was running just fine! Check out this fascinating video here:
Whether it is crazy smartphone durability tests by JerryRigEverything or really crisp-looking reviews by MKBHD, or seeing an iPhone XS flying high up the sky tied to nothing but balloons, there's no saying what YouTube can throw your way to brighten a boring day.
