As artificial intelligence tools continue to permeate all spheres of human existence slowly and surely, companies around the world are looking at ways to maximise their potential through AI. From ChatGPT's viral capabilities to Dall-E, generative artificial intelligence tools are here to stay.
Indians are excited for what's coming! According to a survey by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), 60% Indian executives are excited about AI's impact on workplaces. Even then, opinions across the world remain divided based on seniority.
The survey took into account responses of 12,800 employees in executive roles and frontline jobs across industries in 18 countries including India. Brazil (71%) showed the most optimism about the impact of generative AI on workplace, followed by India (60%) and the Middle East (58%). Among the least optimistic countries are the United States (46%), the Netherlands (44%), and Japan (40%).
Countries that are the most concerned about AI are the Netherlands (42%), France (41%), and Japan (38%). Among the least concerned geographies are the Middle East (25%), Brazil (19%), and India (14%). 61% of the 1,000 respondents from India are optimistic about AI tools while 72.8% of them believe that the rewards offered by generative AI outweigh their risks.

About 88% of those surveyed said that they believe AI will transform their job and 80% said that regulations that are specific to AI are the need of the hour.
Generative AI is already transforming workplaces - taking away the burden of mundane tasks like writing emails and generating prompt-based text. The survey added that 52% of the surveyed respondents were optimistic about AI's impact on work which was 35% in 2018.
Among the 18 countries surveyed, Indian executives are the most optimistic about the transformative abilities of AI on workplaces. Senior leaders also use AI more frequently and more optimistic about it (62%) and are thus less concerned about it than frontline employees (42%).

Globally, 36% respondents said that their job was likely to be eliminated by AI and 86% said that they'd need skilling.
