Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for accurate leaks on Apple device features in the past, has revealed that only the Pro models of the upcoming iPhone 14 series would get a new processor this year.?
This includes the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. This means, the upcoming A16 Bionic chipset (or whatever Apple decides to call it) could only be seen on iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, keeping the iPhone 14 and (if there is an) iPhone 14 Max on last year¡¯s A15 Bionic chipset.?
Kuo further added that all four of the ?iPhone 14? models are likely to come with 6GB of memory, with the ?non-pro iPhone 14? models having LPDDR 4X memory and the ?iPhone 14 Pro? models having LPDDR 5 memory. The current iPhone 13 series sports 4GB of RAM whereas the Pro versions get 6GB of RAM.?
According to Kuo, the LPDDR5 memory would be over one and a half times faster than LPDDR4 within 30 percent more power efficiency.?

This could create quite the kerfuffle in iPhone buyers since the company has always made sure to include the same processor across the series every year. People with existing iPhone 13s won¡¯t really have a strong reason to upgrade with the same processor onboard.?
Also, this could force buyers to shift buying from the more affordable range to the more pricey Pro one to get the newest and fastest hardware Apple has to offer for its iPhones.?
