This last week has been crazy for Indian apps on the Google Play Store like Mitron and Remove China Apps.?
Some apps on the platform that got a great spike in the number of downloads were recently pulled out of the platform due to violation of some terms and conditions. These apps included the desi TikTok clone Mitron and ¡®Remove China Apps¡¯.
However, today, Mitron -- the app that managed to get over 5 million downloads in a month of its launch -- back on the Google Play Store, according to reports. Google had yesterday issued a clarification on why these apps were pulled down from the Google Play Store despite the crazy amount of popularity these apps received in a really short span of time.?
In this clarification, they had also mentioned that it was working with the developers of Mitron to fix the issue.?
¡°We have an established process of working with developers to help them fix issues and resubmit their apps. We¡¯ve given this developer some guidance and once they¡¯ve addressed the issue the app can go back up on Play,¡± noted Sameer Samat, Vice President, Android and Google Play, in the blog post.
The app is now back from the dead and it has added quite a few things to the app as stated in its ¡®What¡¯s New¡¯ section: 1) Resolved Video upload issue; 2) Audio selection from Audio Library; 3) Crash fixes 4) Bug fixes; and 5) UX changes.
The app developers have also added a website of the developer on the Play Store -- something that wasn¡¯t there earlier. The developers describe the app as a ¡°free Short Video and Social Platform.?
The app was also the talk of the town as after being touted as a ¡®Made in India¡¯ app, the app was originally developed by a group of Pakistani developers dubbed QBoxus and was bought from them for around Rs 2,500.??
