At the Mobile World Congress today, Xiaomi had a couple of new devices to launch. One was its Mi 9 flagship, coming to other shores after a China release, and the other is a new 5G device, Xiaomi's first, in the form of the new Mi MIX 3 5G.

The Mi 9 is the latest device in Xiaomi's main device series. It features a 6.4-inch (19:6) AMOLED display with the now common waterdrop notch. It's powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6GB RAM, and a 3300mAh battery. The device follows suit with other flagship smartphones, with quick charging and a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display.
More importantly, the Mi 9 has a triple camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 48MP primary camera, 12MP telephoto lens, and 16MP wide-angle. The device will be available in Europe from February 28, priced at about Rs 36,000 for the 6GB+64GB version, and about Rs 40,000 for the 6GB+128GB. It comes comes in Piano Black, Ocean Blue, and Lavender Violet.
The other big launch from the company was its first 5G-ready smartphone, the Mi MIX 3 5G. It uses the same specs as in the Mi MIX, but with the addition of a Snapdragon 855 with Qualcomm's X50 modem for 5G download speeds up to 2.3Gbps. It also has the same 6.4-inch AMOLED display, 12MP dual camera, and 3200mAh battery.
The Mi MIX 3 5G will be available in May, with a starting price of approximately Rs 48,000, in Onyx Black and Sapphire Blue colours.
