If you¡¯re a gamer, you know the kind of expensive products brands try to sell you in the name of ¡®gaming¡¯, promising better performance.
We¡¯ve seen gaming keyboards, gaming headsets and even gaming chairs. However, now, Puma has taken this up a notch by designing a pair of shoes for gamers.
Puma calls it ¡®Active Gaming Footwear¡¯. Yes, you read that right and in case you were wondering that they come with RGB LEDs (because according to companies that¡¯s what gamers like) they don¡¯t. The shoes, in particular, aren¡¯t the fanciest -- with a sleek, flat sole and a rather low-profile design -- not chunky running shoes like we¡¯re used to seeing from the brand.?
Puma¡¯s website actually states that these aren¡¯t actually shoes -- but more like comfortable socks that can work indoor and outdoor. They were designed keeping console gamers in mind, which is odd, considering how can you differentiate footwear dependent on console or PC gaming? They both sit and play!
However, the website description added some more clarity to these so-called shoes.?
No, the shoes don¡¯t come with any buttons or touch surfaces to change modes -- that would have been cool. These modes talk about the way gamers sit in different conditions on the new seat Puma has designed for console gamers.
Keeping the gimmicky talk aside, they surely look cool, but come with a hefty price. The shoes cost a good $160 or Rs 11,500. And the only question here remains -- aren¡¯t a pair of flip-flops or clogs or just thicker socks just as comfortable? What do you feel about Puma¡¯s new Active Gaming Footwear? Would you go for it?
