The new vehicle is Tesla¡¯s answer to the automobile industry. He¡¯s managed to build a speedy performance vehicle that¡¯s fully electric, and even manages to seat four people. The Roadster boasts some incredible performance numbers, ones that still have to be confirmed on the road, which might make it the world¡¯s fastest production car.
According to Tesla¡¯s numbers, the Roadster is truly the machine of every autophile¡¯s dreams. It boasts an eye watering acceleration of 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96.5 kph) in just 1.9 seconds, making it the first ever production vehicle to break through the 2-seconds acceleration ceiling. It makes the longer climb from 0 to 100 mph (0 to 161 kph) in 4.2 seconds

The CEO refused to pinpoint the vehicle¡¯s to pinpoint the vehicle¡¯s top speed, though the company loosely defines it at over 250 mph, or over 402 kph.
Even better, is the fact that this isn¡¯t some speedy electric golf cart you take for a quick zip around the neighbourhood. No, the Tesla Roadster actually has a 200 kWh battery, meaning it has an effective range of 1,000 kilometres.?
The car has three motors, one in the front and two at the back, with an all-wheel drive system and torque steering. It¡¯s clearly a push to takeover the sportscar industry, something no electric car has been able to do before this. And yet, Tesla may have a chance.
¡°The point of doing this is to give a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars,¡± Musk said at the event. After all, the Tesla Roadster even has the kind of looks that make you want to leap into the seat and break the speed limit on a straightaway
Of course, the experience won¡¯t come cheap, though it¡¯s not nearly as expensive as comparable supercars. The base model starts at $200,000 (approximately Rs 1.29 crore), part of that being a $50,000 (Rs 32 lakh) deposit up front. In addition, the first 1,000 models will be special Founder¡¯s Series models that¡¯ll cost $250,000 (Rs 1.62 lakh) paid fully upfront. Bookings are open though production will only begin in 2020.
