People who have been wanting to get their Twitter profiles verified might have to wait a while longer, as the microblogging platform has paused the verification process once again.?

Off lately, Twitter has been accidentally adding its trust blue badge of verification on several fake accounts online -- most of which have been reportedly a part of a botnet.
The announcement was made by Twitter Verified (@verified) on its profile where it stated, ¡°We¡¯ve temporarily hit pause on rolling out access to apply for Verification so we can make improvements to the application and review process. For those who have been waiting, we know this may be disappointing. We want to get things right, and appreciate your patience.¡±
In case you¡¯re one of the many who have recently applied to get a verified blue tick and are waiting to see if you¡¯ve gotten lucky, you¡¯ll be happy to know that whatever applications have been made before the sending of this tweet will be acknowledged.?
Twitter verified responding to a user revealed that it is just freezing new applications with existing applications still being under review.

In case you were wondering this is the first time Twitter has disabled the verification process of users, it isn¡¯t. It had put verifications on hold in the year 2017 after it received backlash for verifying one of the organisers behind the ¡®Unite The Right¡¯ rally in Charlottesville.?
It rebooted the process in 2021 and paused it a week later after an overwhelming list of requests.
