WhatsApp is working on a new notification for images with disappearing messages enabled, as well as the ability to hear voice messages while switching between users on WhatsApp Web.

While disappearing messages as a feature surely feel like a much-needed inclusion, it isn¡¯t the most effective.?In many instances, the image tends to either get saved in the gallery or someone can instantly take a screenshot of it, saving the image in their gallery and rendering its premise moot.?
However, now, feature tipster WABetaInfo has spotted that WhatsApp could be working on a new Media Visibility feature that prevents viewing media in your phone¡¯s gallery with disappearing messages turned on.?
A WhatsApp screenshot message talks about this feature stating, ¡°Media visibility is off for disappearing messages. Messages in this chat are set to disappear. For privacy reasons, media is not auto-saved to your phone¡¯s gallery. To save the media from this chat, please turn off disappearing messages.¡±
There is no tentative timeline for the feature to surface to the stable version of the app.

Last month, we saw WhatsApp test the ability to hear voice messages even after leaving chats on the smartphone. And now, it seems like this feature could soon roll out to more platforms as the feature was recently spotted on the desktop version of WhatsApp.

The screenshots shared by WABetaInfo show a voice message playing while the user has switched to another conversation. The app gets a new audio player bar at the bottom of the chat list that shows the duration of the voice message.?
The feature has been made live to all the beta testers who have signed up for the beta version of the WhatsApp Desktop app.
