The most beautiful thing about Xiaomi's UniBlade Trimmer is its design. With the trimmer, the Chinese company is foraying into the personal grooming department. Besides the attractive design, users will also notice how lightweight it is. Is it worth buying? Keep reading this review to find out.
Xiaomi's UniBlade trimmer is actually quite effective! The company's "three-way" blade is pitched as versatile and comfortable for users, and Xiaomi claims that it may be used to shave, trim, and groom - making the device a full package in terms of its specs.
When put to the test, the trimmer performed quite well on my face. I prefer a clean-shaven look without using a shaving device (conventional blades usually leave me with bumps). With the Xiaomi UniBlade trimmer, I didn't face this problem. In fact, it gave me the clean look I desire with its three-way rotary head that can help you deal with hard-to-reach spots.
The trimmer has a single attachment that can manage 14-length settings - from 0.2mm to 8.5mm. Putting it on for the first time made me roll my eyes a little bit but it's quite easy to use - it, however, stumbles at its maximum setting. For users who prefer the clean-cut look, this is a great trimmer. If you have a thick and curly hair, I could see why it might run into problems.
In terms of its looks, the Xiaomi UniBlade trimmer is quite beautiful. The sleek design and the matte finish do a good job of masking leftover hair from a trimming session. At first grip, it's a sturdy and lightweight trimmer that gets the job done. The trimmer has just one power button and an LED light and is available only in a black variant.
Xiaomi's UniBlade trimmer takes 90 minutes to fully charge its 600mAh battery and unfortunately doesn't come with battery indicators. The LED light flashes orange when it's time to recharge. The best part about this trimmer is the fact that it comes with a USB Type-C port. Essentially, you can eliminate the risk of carrying an extra charger and wire when you're taking your trimmer with you on the go.
The trimmer is also relatively easier to clean, compared to the likes of Philips, and comes with IPX7 rating for water resistance. In addition, the Xiaomi UniBlade trimmer sports a travel lock mode. By pressing the power button for three seconds, the mode can prevent unintended activation during transit. It may also be deactivated by a three-second press.
Officially priced at Rs. 2,999 on the Xiaomi website, (but available for Rs. 1,599 on most portals) the Xiaomi UniBlade is a good purchase if you wish to own a one device for your shaving, trimming, and grooming needs. It's a lightweight device that could benefit from a more sturdy rotary comb. When you get used to the design, it'll make for a comfortable trim.
