No real reason! The backlash stemmed from J-Hope using Doechii's song, with critics claiming the timing of his post was suspicious. On February 2, the Grammy Awards took place, honouring many artists for their contributions over the past year.
Doechii took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album—a significant and emotional milestone for the artist, who has been active since 2016. However, some critics attempted to stir controversy, suggesting that J-Hope posted the video for "clout" in response to her Grammy win.?
ARMYs, tired of BLINKs instigating online fights, quickly came to J-Hope's defense, emphasizing that the video was just a fun, lighthearted moment. Some even pointed out that Doechii had previously given BTS a shoutout in one of her songs.?
Meanwhile, others speculate that this could hint at a possible collaboration between J-Hope and Doechii in the future.?
Set to kick off at the end of February, the 30-date Hope on the Stage tour will take J-Hope across major cities in Asia and North America, marking a historic moment as the BTS rapper, dancer, and producer steps into the solo spotlight.?
