A new trouble for the Tesla owner Elon Musk? Well, amid the ongoing protests against the company and the increasing involvement of the tech-billionaire in DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) and the Donald Trump administration, concerns have been raised among Tesla investors.
While recently speaking to Sky News, Ross Gerber, the Tesla investor for a long time now, opened up about the company's declining stock in 2025. He said Tesla stocks saw a decline of 36 per cent in the first three months of 2025, which is one of the sharpest decreases since 2022 and the largest drop for a quarter in history.
Gerber went on to highlight that Musk is more committed towards DOGE's role in the government and is spending more time with the Trump administration rather than looking into his business.
Continuing to speak, he also stated, "I think Tesla needs a new CEO. The business has been neglected for too long.¡±
According to Gerber, there are too many things the company is involved in currently; hence, Musk should come back to the company and be the CEO of Tesla and give up his other tasks. He also noted that Musk's focus has shifted more towards his engagement with X (formerly called Twitter), which is eventually causing huge damage to the EV car company.
¡°Sales are plummeting, so yeah, it's a crisis. You literally can't sell the best product in the marketplace because the CEO is so divisive.¡±
Well, amid all of this going on and the rising demand for Elon Musk to resign from the CEO position, one name has garnered much attention lately, which is Tom Zhu, the president of Tesla China. Tom is a key figure in the company's global expansion.
According to the CEO Today report, if Musk were to step down from his position, Zhu has an impressive chance to take over, as he has a deep understanding of the company.
Tom Zhu is the current president of Tesla China. He was born and brought up in China and was later educated in New Zealand and the United States.
He started his journey with Tesla in 2014 when he joined as the Director of Expansion in China, and he was quickly able to manage large-scale projects.
