No matter what place you go to, a waterfall definitely catches one's eye. These waterfalls get even more beautiful during the monsoon season since the heavy rains enhance the beauty of this nature's gift.?
However, a magnificent waterfall is getting India a lot more attention recently. This is because a video of the jog waterfall in Karnataka is making a round on social media and it is being compared to Niagara Falls.?
The constant rains have made Jog Falls in Karnataka one of the most beautiful sites this monsoon.
The video has been shared by Eric Solheim, a former Norwegian diplomat, who credited it to a user named Raghu. "This is not Niagara Falls... This is Jog Falls, located in Shimoga district of Karnataka, India," reads the caption.??
After the said video was uploaded, several others shared stunning pictures and videos of Jog falls. One user wrote, "Been here many a times. Beautiful beyond words." While another said, "Karnataka is beautiful as what I explored not talking about Bengaluru traffic though."
Several other users shared videos and pictures of other waterfalls in India which are equally magnificent.?
?
The video has received over 10 lakh views and over 84,000 likes since it was posted. Over 400 people commented on the post as well.?
Jog Falls is located in the Shivamogga district's Sagar taluk, where the river Sharavathi flows down from a height of 810 feet. The river is divided into four streams: Raja, Rani, Roarer, and Rocket. They are collectively known as Jog Falls.
Jog falls isn't the only gift of nature to mankind. There is a?'reverse' waterfall that is absolutely beautiful. The video of this waterfall was shared recently by Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda.?
He captioned the video, "When the magnitude of wind speed is equal & opposite to the force of gravity. The waterfall at its best during that stage in Naneghat of the western ghats range. The beauty of Monsoons."
The video shows water gushing from the waterfall - you will be surprised to witness the water not streaming down but evaporating and forming clouds. When the wind speed magnitude is equal and opposite to the force of gravity, this phenomenon occurs.?
Nature is absolutely wondrous.?
