Ever since the lockdown, penguins and other animals, sheltered at various aquariums and wildlife reserves around the world have been allowed to step out for little walks to explore their surroundings.?It's clear that with humans at home, there's plenty of breathing space for these adorable creatures.
Wildlife Reserves Singapore, which owns and operates Singapore Zoo, said on Facebook that its African penguins have been taken out for regular walks, and that they've been so well-behaved that they made a fun workout regime for them.?
The Wildlife Reserve Singapore's Facebook post read, "Our African penguins have taken to their walks so well that their keepers think they would love to explore new areas in our parks."
?With the zoo closed to the public as the country battles a worsening virus outbreak, the African penguins had little in the way of stimulation without passers-by stopping to admire them.??
Posting?a?clip of the penguins enjoying the course,?WRS?wrote?on Facebook:?"To help them go further in their little adventures, their exhibit has been transformed into an obstacle course, helping them build leg strength!"
Wildlife Reserves Singapore wrote that the obstacle course is part of enrichment activities to keep the animals occupied during the circuit breaker period.??
?The zoo says the workout strengthens the creatures' leg muscles and helps them navigate new environments.
