Winters are here and several places in North India experienced the coldest day of winters on December 2. While Delhi experienced chilly winds on Monday morning, which brought the minimum temperature down to 8 degrees celsius, Himachal Pradesh recorded more temperature than Delhi.?
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh’s capital, recorded a temperature of 9 degrees celsius, according to Weather.com. Can you imagine Delhi being colder than Shimla? Thinking of changing those hill station plans and staying put? Might not be such a bad idea, to be honest.?

The highest temperature in Himachal Pradesh was recorded in Una at 23.6 degrees Celsius.?
?‘At 8 degrees, Delhi recorded the lowest temperature of the season. May drop further to 7 degrees in the coming days. The winter chill is here,’ Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Meteorology and Climate Change, Skymet, had tweeted.?
The mercury in Jammu also dropped to 8 degrees celsius. Imagine, Delhi and Jammu recording same temperatures!?
On Sunday, the minimum temperature in the national capital was 9.4 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature recorded was 23.4 degrees. Leh continued to be the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir at -14.4 degrees. Srinagar also recorded the coldest night of the season at -2.5 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.?
Kashmir also received first snowfall on November 7 and locals woke up to the beautiful sight of the valley draped in a fresh layer of snow. The picturesque mountains and the pearl white blanket of ice made it look more beautiful than before.

Kinnaur's Kalpa recorded a minimum temperature of -1.6 degrees Celsius, while, Manali recorded a low of -0.4 degrees Celsius.?
In Haryana and Punjab, Narnaul was the coldest place among cities in the two states at 6.5 degrees Celsius. The common capital Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 9.1 degrees Celsius.
While Delhi recorded lower temperature than Shimla, it also recorded lesser AQI than Mumbai. Air pollution in Delhi fell to the lowest level in a month on Monday, with the city enjoying cleaner air than Mumbai. But the situation is likely to deteriorate to ‘severe’ levels in the next two days, weather scientists said.?

The AQI in Delhi was recorded at 162 in the unhealthy category, while Mumbai recorded 880 AQI. “The AQI is forecast to slightly deteriorate to the lower end of the very poor category by tomorrow (Tuesday), and the probability of AQI touching the lower end of severe category from Thursday this week is high,” System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research (Safar) said on Monday.
