The ever-emerging reports in the Diddy case continue to send chills down the spine. Adding to the series of startling revelations are newfound details about a strange ritual that the now-disgraced rapper performed just hours before his acquittal in a 1999 nightclub shooting case. The bizarre information has been shared by the Bad Boy Records founder's ex-bodyguard.
A shocking detail has emerged from Sean Combs' past. Diddy's former bodyguard Gene Deal has made a stunning claim in the Hulu documentary The Honorable Shyne. In the doc, Deal alleges that just hours before his acquittal in the 1999 nightclub shooting case, he witnessed Diddy ¡®sacrificing a bird¡¯ on his way to court for the final trial.
Deal claimed that on the morning of the verdict, Diddy met a man in Central Park to perform a unusual ritual. ¡°When Puff got close to the guy, he just dropped to his knees. Then I saw smoke, like sage, moving around Puff," he alleged.?
The 1999 nightclub shooting at Club New York in Manhattan holds many secrets, and some of them are finally unravelling, courtesy of Diddy's recent arrest. On December 27, 1999, a dispute erupted, which led to firing in the posh Manhattan club. At least three people were injured. Diddy and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were present during the incident.
While Diddy and Lopez walked free despite initial suspicions, Shyne, a young rapper under Diddy's Bad Boy Records, faced severe consequences following the shooting. Despite claiming innocence, he was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for assault, reckless endangerment, and illegal weapon possession.
Shyne, who now goes by Moses Barrow, has moved on in his life since the incident, starting a new innings as a politician. Amid the renewed interest in the case in the wake of Diddy's scandal, the Leader of the Opposition of Belize opened up about the infamous incident, admitting he became the fall guy back then.
Shyne alleged that it was Combs, then known as Puff Daddy, who fired a shot into the ceiling of a Midtown dance club in 1999, injuring three people, while accompanied by then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. "He pretty much sent me to prison," Shyne said, referring to his 10-year sentence.
When asked about Diddy's freak-off sessions, he dodged the question, saying "Oh my goodness! I have nothing to do with Sean Combs' personal life. Everything between us was strictly professional."
Diddy is currently lodged in New York's notorious Metropolitan Detention Center. His trial will begin on May 5, 2025.
