Even though we dream of staying at home with nothing to do, it's not exactly the easiest thing to do when you know you don't have another option at your disposal. Amid the coronavirus lockdown that has people cooped up inside their homes to prevent further spreading of infection, some people in the Capital have come up with a fun way to spend their time.
A video of people from a residential colony - supposedly in West Delhi - playing tambola from their balconies, has gone viral on the Internet. In the video, you can hear a woman announcing tambola numbers, and it seems like she has some kind of sound system set-up that is helping her voice reach each and everyone in the colony.
The video was posted by Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra who compared the lockdown entertainment with Italy's way of dealing with staying at home. In Italy, musicians took to their balconies to entertain their neighbours. Opera singers sang for them while DJs played party music.?
The tambola-playing video has over 2K retweets and more than 16K likes and people are loving the creativity! Mr Mahindra himself was left amazed by the same. In his tweet, his caption read, 'I will never stop being amazed by the creativity of our people. In Italy, opera singers entertained their neighbours from their homes. But this is even more fun!'
Another Twitter user?@S_PD91 posted a video which sounded like the same woman who was announcing the numbers in Mr Mahindra's video. In the video, you can see the woman using a mic to announce the numbers and her family members are accompanying her in the balcony of their home.
People on the internet are loving this creative and fun initiative!
Some people also shared videos of themselves playing similar online games at home with others.
Being isolated from the world isn't as easy it sounds and we hope that people are spending their time productively in order to get through this.
