The weather in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand is consistently covered in debris due to landslides which end up closing places on one's way.?
Due to this, a lot of inconvenience is caused to those travelling by these routes and recently, a wedding party - baraat - which left the groom's village in the morning encountered debris blocking their way 10 km from the starting point, reported Amar Ujala.

Left with no other option, the groom as well as the baraatis took matters into their own hands and removed the debris lying on the route to make way.
Their efforts went on for nearly an hour and a half which eventually led to a fruitful outcome of the road being opened for them to move further.?The Baraatis returned home with the bride at 1 AM in the night due to the delay in their movement.?
The groom, Digvijay Singh Kandari, hails from Ringoli Malli village of Lostu Badiargarh in Kirtinagar block and was on his way to visit Pokhari village in Chamoli district to marry his bride.

Raghuveer Singh Kandari said that 14 people were accommodated in five small vehicles given the lockdown. Seeing the debris that fell on the route, along with the groom, all the people started the work of removing it, a process that took about an hours and a half. Due to this, the wedding also got delayed.?

However, the baraatis' strenuous?efforts made it possible for them to reach the bride's home after two in the afternoon. Local Hardev Singh, Puran Singh, Pritam Singh were infuriated at the motorway from Teghd to Ghandialdhar being in a messy condition, covered in debris. They said that it leaves travellers at risk and the Public Works Department has been asked to solve the problem many times but in vain.
