Adventure sports give you an adrenaline rush but everyone eventually wants to be safe. However, sometimes, accidents happen that cannot be prevented but one should always be prepared for such mishaps. Having an alert mind helps you to deal with such unexpected challenges with ease.
A recent nail-biting video has surfaced on social media that shows the?shocking moment where a groundworker assisting two people attached to a paraglider was pulled up into the sky due to a gust of wind.?
According to reports, the incident happened in Las Vizcachas, Puento Alto, Cordillera Province in central Chile on Monday. The scary incident was captured on camera and the video shows an instructor and a student strapped into a paragliding aircraft and dressed in all the suitable gear, including crash helmets.?
A ground worker - who is wearing no protective gear and isn¡¯t tied to the harness- is seen helping the paraglider move into position when it is lifted off by a gust of wind.
However, things do not go as smoothly as the paraglider takes off by accident, and the worker is left hanging onto the front of the harness by mistake as the paragliders get higher and higher in the air.?
The pilot spots the ground worker dangling from the harness and acts quickly. Without wasting any more time that could place the worker in potential danger, the pilot loses height by flying over a low hill, allowing the groundworker to take a plunge safely. The pilot then soars higher into the air.?
If the pilot had not been so quick with his actions, the entire incident would have gone in another direction.
The video was posted on YouTube. Watch the horrifying video here:
Fortunately, the ground worker did not sustain any injuries because of the incident and came back scratch-free.The incident was reported to Chile's air travel regulator, the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), who have launched an investigation.?
An official in the DGAC was quoted as saying by Daily Mail, "In the face of videos circulating on social networks, of an incident involving a paraglider in the village of Las Vizcachas, in the commune of Puente Alto, the DGAC is compiling all the background of the case."
Adventure sports are fun and kick in a rush of dopamine in our body but we should always double-check everything and be careful to avoid any accidents. It is also recommended to always make sure to go to trustworthy and expert people for carrying out such activities.?
